Well…….. this Winter is turning out to be dud in my opinion :(((((. I, for one have been waiting on a snow storm for two months. They forecast snow…….. we get rain. I thought, sure as the world I would wake up on Super Bowl morning to a Winter Wonderland.
No such luck.
The Chiefs better win ya’ll.

I have had this antique dresser for about a month. I bought it from a nice couple that live near me in South Asheville. It looked good in the Facebook Marketplace ad and the seller was nice and got back to me fast and excepted my offer. The hardest part of this purchase was getting the dresser down three flights of stairs. The seller lives in a 4 story apartment building and he was glad to help me:)))) Come to think of it, it was pouring the rain that day as well. It’s been a really wet here in Asheville, as apposed to white.
I almost always work on the design in my head while I am driving my new piece home in my car. I didn’t have a clear plan (or good weather) for this one for days. The dresser needed to be sanded , new stain applied to it and several random holes filled in the smaller drawers on the top. We recently put a dehumidifier in our garage which helped that process nicely.
I am so happy and surprised about how this dresser came out ya’ll!
This color is called Oakmoss from Melange Paints.
I get in this situation sometimes where I think I will never find my next piece. To say that it causes me great anxiety is an understatement. Coincidently, I go out and buy pieces of furniture that I should not have. I have a second one out in the garage right now……..
Let’s talk about the hardware on this one. The drawers are stained pretty dark so I went with antique brass jewelry that would show up really well on top of the dark stain. I had just enough of the antique brass cup pulls left over from another project to use for this dresser but had no knobs. I found these on Amazon and they matched really well !
I also have a skeleton key that fits the dresser in my key collection!
Ya’ll know I had to have a fun drawer liners!
All those moody colors fit right in with natural dark wood and dark greens.
Now I will have to pick up the pieces of this other mistake and see if we can salvage it.
Ya’ll have a great week!
