Good morning ya’ll!
I hope all of ya’ll are having a great Saturday in January. We still have not had a flake of snow and I, for one am very unhappy about that. Snow in the Blue Ridge Mountains is absolute magic in my opinion.
So today I am sharing our latest second hand furniture adventure.
Here is the Before:
Fifty bucks, solid maple, didn’t want the original hardware anyway. Aside from dust and a few scratched this piece was perfect.
Lord this wood grain ya’ll!
I feel like we hit the jackpot on this piece. The original finish and stain was so dark we couldn’t get the full sense of what was actually under it.
Big ‘ol googly eyes right here ya’ll!!
So let’s talk about the paint and the paint technique for a bit.
I have been using Melange paints for a couple of years now . I use exclusively they’re One line. ‘One’ means all in one, paint and sealer together. The colors seem to be endless…….. they pretty much had me at Hello 🙂 The color that I picked for dresser is called Oakmoss. It’s a deep grayish dark green. The technique is referred to as a ‘Dipped’ technique. Ya’ll have seen me do this several times and I love the effect .
May I just say right now that I am in love with this wallpaper! You’ve seen the green version before now this is the black.
We chose is a champagne bronze bar pull for the drawers. This sleek bar pull has a brushed sort of finish. We’ve used this particular pull on several pieces of furniture in different color choices and have never been the least disappointed .
The mango wood candlesticks I have been collecting for year or two. My goal is to have a gob of them. They came from several different sources. The link above is to a nice 3 piece set online if anyone is interested.
Thank ya’ll so much for stopping by to see me! This project was super fun and really exceeded my expectations . I love the way it turned out.
Enjoy your weekend!
