On this very cold Christmas morning in the mountains of Western North Carolina Big Daddy and I want to wish all of ya’ll a very merry Christmas! May your hearts open, merry and bright and your family gathered around you. Today I am sharing our home at Christmas. We did something this year that we have never done before, we traveled out of town over two weekends in December. It made it a little bit hard to get the house all done up for the season but we managed to do it!
In our living room…….
Even though I’ve had this big boy for several years I get so excited to place him on our mantle! He is always the very first bit of Christmas decor that went up.
This Fall as all the Christmas decor was coming out I fell in love with these mango wooden trees. I love the warm color of the wood. Each were purchased at different shops.
See what I mean about that lovely grain?
On to our dining room.
Of all the rooms in our home I think that our dining room is my favorite to decorate for Christmas. We eat the vast majority of out meals in our kitchen. I love to bring lots of fresh pine into this room especially. In our region of the country Frasier firs are the Christmas trees of choice . Their fragrance is wonderful!
I have collected Mercury glass ornaments for years now to display at this lovely time of the year. In the last few years I have actually found a few pieces of it at thrift stores. Just this past Fall I walked out of a Goodwill with 3 Pottery Barn mercury glass ornaments and these three bowls nestled in the small Fraser wreaths!
Now to our kitchen.
Last year if ya’ll recall I grew two Red Lion Amaryllis bulbs. I enjoyed them so much ya’ll ! This year I found these Apple Blossom Amaryllis bulbs at a hardware store. They didn’t come in a kit with pots and soil so I planted them in these footed bowls. Even Big Daddy has enjoyed watching them grow and bloom!
Thank ya’ll so much for stopping by and visiting me around this special and magical time of year. It means so much to me!
