If you have been following this blog for any length of time my obsession with Hepplewhite era furniture is quite apparent. So when I can afford a piece of it I grab it.
Today’s victim……..
Somehow I missed the seller’s photos of the top of this cute and cheap little table . From this photo it looks to me like the top is super damaged, like something heavy and honeycombed was sitting on it long enough to leave it’s mark all over the top. So as soon as I got home with it straight away I sanded that to down…………. and I had a winner!
I had a dark gray in my crazy little head for this one. The problem was that I didn’t have a a dark gray paint. So I slowly added bits of black to the medium gray I did have and it worked like a charm !
I chose to leave the the top raw, no stain at all. I found this awesome furniture wax several months ago and I like it more than the other waxes that I have used in the past.
And I also had a little bit of fun with the two drawers in this piece ( :
Thanks ya’ll for stopping in to see me!
