Nothing makes my heart pitter-patter like the word Drexel ya’ll. The Drexel furniture line is and has always been beyond compare. And here’s a fun fact about me and Drexel pieces: I always paint them black.
I do not know why………..
I picked these two up literally in the back of beyond. The very nice lady that I bought them from said they were part of her Dad’s estate and unfortunately for me there where no other pieces left. Just my luck. So as soon as I got home with these I got to work on them. Originally I was so sure I would just paint them. Period. And be done with them. So as I was cleaning them really well to accept the paint I just kept looking at the wood detail on the single small drawer and curiosity got the better of me.
So I sanded down the tops, drawer fronts and both sets of doors. Unfortunately when I sanded the top off the second table there was a BIG purple stain in the middle of that top. I just wanted to cry. After I thought about it a bit I did come up with another option these otherwise beautiful tops.
In actuality the edges of the table top was the show here. So I grabbed the Frog Tape and taped off the edges so the I was only painted the middle of the tops. I was super surprised at how good the tops turned out. To me it actually looks like it should have been like that all along.
Lord knows that I love a good black and white drawer liner. It is so classic and timeless and this one is no exception. When I am stocking up on peel and stick wallpaper black and white patterns are at the top of my list. Fun Fact about The Paiger:
I dress in black and white a lot :))))
I’m pretty sure these two bedsides also hold the recored for the HEAVIEST bedsides that I have personally picked up and moved.
They are solid as a rock ya’ll!
I delivered them to my shop at 12:30 on Sunday.
They lasted about half the day:)

Thank you so much! It’s great to hear from you :). Black and White goes a long way in fashion. If you have black, white, denim and khaki and cool boots you have a wardrobe.

You were so smart to leave a ‘flange’ of natural wood color around the tops, and also on the doors. These turned out quite stunning and dramatic. I’m surprised they lasted in half a day!

Girl If I had a spot for them in this house they would still be here!
