Happy Independence Day ya’ll!
I hope all ya’ll are full of barbecue and great deserts:))) We have had a wonderful long 4th of July weekend here in Asheville. We had great friends over on Saturday and barbecued chicken, Sunday we cooked burgers and dogs with family and today we spent time with our good friends in the neighborhood. Alas…… tomorrow it’s back to actual work. Today I want to share a new paint color that I am in love with!
But first…….. todays victim.
Broyhill with chew marked on the corner ya’ll. Other than that, all was good. They didn’t smell, clean as can be and came as a pair. Oh, and they sat out in The Hell Hole for a few months.
Honest to God I can not tell you why.
Sometimes I do not get me.
This is Talley green from Melange paints and you will most surely see it again on this blog! It reminds of an old antique green and I LOVE it! I love just about any green but this one ticked all the boxes.
Even the tops are lovely!
I refinished them with Minwax Jacobean stain and sealed the tops with clear furniture wax. The most fun though is in those Talley green drawers………
Lord how sweet is this paper I ask ya’ll?
I just love that big pink Peony!
The original oval Hepplewhite pull on the bottom drawer I kept. The patina was perfect. However, the 4 knobs on each of the top drawers lacked the same qualities. I replaced them with new antique brass knobs from Amazon. When the knobs arrived they were darker than I thought they would have been. So I ever so carefully applied a bit of Rub N Buff to the high points on the knob. You know me and jewelry……. And it was just enough sparkle.
This seagrass basket was my Mama’s.
I remember when she and my Dad vacationed down there.
It’s in my loving room now.
