This past week I tackled a dresser that I have walked by twice a day for weeks. It was a great deal, gobs of drawers and solid maple, yet I could not bring myself to work on it.
As you can tell it was really RED!
Red as hell. I was quite pissed at myself for dragging it home in the first place. So in true Paige form I had to make myself go out to the Hell Hole and drag it out in our driveway to sand the thing down.
I cussed a LOT.
Also in true Paige form, I began to see that I had not wasted fifty bucks either 🙂 The dresser was solid as could be and all the drawers were in really good shape. It just needed a now style………… and some lipstick.
I photographed her down at the shop just to give our backs a break. Even without the drawers in the dresser she is super heavy.
I bought the sunflower stencil a while back and just forgot about. I knew that I wanted to something detailed for the drawers so I started rummaging around in my stencil pile and there it was. These small designs are pretty time consuming but I just love the effect! It took me a weekend to get the drawers done alone.
When I do these BOHO pieces I do not want anything to upstage the fine detail work, not event jewelry. I chose plain, black, inexpensive and simple hardware for her. The drawer liners are a bit fancy and black and white!
The maple top was so pretty that I just left it raw. I did seal with a clear furniture wax for protection. The majority of the pieces of furniture in my home are sealed in wax and it has really held up well.
Ya’ll know very well how much I love me some black & white!
This is a really lovely paper! Ya’ll will be seeing it again , I’m sure!
She lasted 48 hours down at the shop 🙂
Have a great week ya”ll!

I’m surprised it lasted 48 hours. It’s really ‘smashing’! Nice job, Paige.
