Good morning ya’ll!
It is a lovely Spring Sunday morning here in Western North Carolina and the birds are singing, the grass in a beautiful Spring green and my peonies are beautiful. Today I am sharing a couple of antique tables that I finished up a few days ago.
Now, here’s the catch……… these antique tables didn’t come to me as a matched pair. I found the three drawer one on Facebook Marketplace back in the winter . Then the one drawer table I got for $10 at my Goodwill just a week or so ago. The original Hepplewhite style pulls were corroded and did not clean up as well as I hoped. I used rub n buff’s European gold on them. I love how they play with the dark gray color of the tables on this one! Not brassy at all, more like a warm brushed gold.
Fun Fact about me: When I’m in the mood to paint, I will paint. No matter what. For the paint color I mixed up several bits of different grays that I had on hand and at the last possible minite I added some black cabinet paint. There wasn’t enough of any one of them to paint even a small piece of furniture. Why I save bits and pieces of paint I can not tell you. In this case it worked out perfectly !
Of all the wallpaper I have ever used this one is my very favorite! It is just so crisp and clean and I really like the sort of linen weave of that gray background.
I have always loved this era of furniture personally, the fluted sides, the legs and of course the hardware. I think I have told ya’ll this before, my Mama was an antiques collector. Her preference was antique oak. She always wonder why she raised a child that loved mahogany (: She did have a few Duncan Pfyfe pieces in her living room though.
I hope ya’ll are enjoying the Spring where you are!

Very nice, Paige! The gray is perfect and the wallpaper matches it well. Spring was beautiful, all 2 days of it, now it’s a scorcher. 😉 Hoping they’re right about cooler weather this coming week. Have a nice week. grace
