Sometimes I wonder about me…….. why I do some of the crazy stuff I do, without a second thought. I have scars all over me. Bike wrecks, car accident and MULTIPLE dog bites (one of which is on my face). I currently have a giant very big green and purple place on my forehead from my own car door. This Jesus we wear masks at work. And I still go back for more. If I see a dog ya’ll I am still going to try and pet it. so I’ve told ya’ll all that to show you my most recent leap of stupidity .
I committed to buying to purchasing a piece of furniture from these two photos, sight unseen.
$50
I had this grand ambition to strip this entire piece and leave it raw, and I did. But the only pretty wood in this piece was the top and those drawer fronts. So I went on to Plan B. I was bitter but I did it.
Ya’ll I think this is cherry wood.
If any of ya’ll know please leave a comment for me.
Thoughts?
This buffet turned out so pretty, even if all the wood wasn’t pretty!
All those curvy parts down along the apron, talk about luck! The bare wood was super, SUPER red. So I mixed up some Minwax Jacobean with a small amount of Minwax Ebony and they did the trick! The body and legs are painted in multiple medium gray paints that I just had saved but didn’t have enough of one of the colors to do anything with. So I just mixed them all together.
I used (my favorite!) gray peel and stick wallpaper and antique brass hardware.
Lily loves to ride the furniture ya’ll.
She is such a mess. I can’t remember ( too may licks to the head ) if I have ever told you that Lily loves to ride on the newly refinished furniture in to place before I photograph it. We will be picking up the furniture and begin to carry it in to the living room and all of the sudden………it’s about 13 pounds heavier.
Tiger Lily is the absolute smartest pet I have ever had, like scary smart.
Mac, on the other hand is dumb as a post.
Happy Easter ya’ll!
Paige

Paige, she’s a beauty! The gray paint really shows off the curvy parts and the great legs on this piece. Love the wood tone mixed with the gray. And Lily, of course, was the icing on the cake!!
Happy Easter!!
