About a week ago I found the cutest dresser on Facebook Marketplace. When I went to pick the piece up I met the cutest soon to be former owner of it. She was just the sweetest lady I have met in a long time . She had relocated here in the Asheville area from New England. The piece I purchased from her she had bought there many years ago also in New England.
And right here, this very detail on the front corners was the sole reason I had to have this one.
I will also say that I had the color in my Crazy Little Head way, WAY before I was driving home with it. The only color I ever even entertained was a teal.
‘
Problem was …….. I would have to make one.
Oooooo she is a fancy thing!
From her newly refinished top, to her teal dress and her antique brass jewelry. Plus I learned something valuable about paint mixing on this one. If it’s water based and not all the same brand? They mix really well together! I mixed Fusion Mineral Paint’s Park Bench (a Kelly green) with Anchors Aweigh (a deep Navy blue) in Valspar Cabinet & Furniture paint in a satin finish in equal parts. Then I added about 2 tablespoons of In Our Stars, a cream color and also Valspar Cabinet & Furniture paint. I could not be more pleased with this color ya’ll!
Now do ya’ll see why I was so obsessed with the corner details?
And also, this particular photo is spot on so far as the color I mixed up look in person.
The knobs I got from Amazon. When I opened them up I thought they were kinda gaudy. But once they were on the dresser, I loved them! Every girl loves a little bit of bling :)))
If you are interested in the knobs you can find them HERE. They come in a variety of finishes.
I also found the liner paper on Amazon. I had been hanging on to it until I found the perfect piece and the perfect color to used it in. Let me just tell you it was worth the wait.
You can find the drawer liners HERE if you are interested.
In other news…….. it’s supposed to be 70 degrees here next week!
Thank God, I got a ton of sanding to do. I brought home a BIG Chest of drawers yesterday……..
