It is 13 degrees here ya’ll. I just thought I would lead with that.
This is the funniest thing ya’ll………. I have found myself gravitating to the Boho side of things lately. Especially in TJ Maxx. I love several aspects of this style and the natural woven baskets and warm wood tones suck me right in. Texture & Tactile are two of my downfalls, along with monkeys and good looking guitar players. I am not however ready to pitch all my crap out of this house and start over. But staging and photographing a vintage maple side table is just the way to dip a toe that particulate style.
And speaking of monkeys, how cute is this gold one???? I love LOVE his tail!
I picked him up at Ross Dress For Less for $10 :))))))
I found this vintage maple side table at my Goodwill a couple weeks ago for $10 . On the drive home with it I had absolutely no idea what in the world I could do with it…….. then my gears started to turn. I chose a green from The Chippy Barn’s Amulent Decor paint line in the color Ever After. It is a deep saturated green (with a tiny bit of blue if you ask me). The Amulent paint is a bit tricky to paint. I always have a problem when I try to paint the second coat on to a piece . It tends to pull up some of the first coat of paint. That is my only criticism for this particular paint line……. but it’s a big one. The color is just gorgeous though.
The top is the show on this piece in my opinion. It was stained in with Minwax Jacobean and 24 hours later sealed with Howard’s Feed & Wax. I was really shocked to see the amazing woodgrain when the stain went on!. Maple is a very pale wood almost making it sort of vanilla. well when I wiped on the Jacobean my jaw dropped! It looks so nice against the green!
I had seen this gold honey bee knob at Hobby Lobby but never thought they would go well with any of the pieces that I was working on . I was in my Hobby Lobby for another reason all together when I actually bought these. One little drawer is not much bling at all on this piece but to me the bees are just enough.
I used a fun peel and stick paper for the drawers ya’ll!
So, did I mention that this table has a twin???
Have a wonderful week Ya’ll!

Just beautiful. LOVE the color. I think the best decorating has lots of layers & all show different parts of the person/people who live there. You have a lovely home.

Jeannie well said! I could not agree more! I like for rooms to evolve over time. What fun would it be to have everything all at once anyway?

What a perfect pair of small tables! Love the green, and we know I’m usually not a huge green fan (unless it’s a deep dark forest green or a rich olive), but this one works so nicely on these tables with their newly strking natural wood tops. Lovely drawer liner choice, too!
I have brought out my duck, pheasant and quail decor for winter and am doing mostly touches of nature – greens with tans/brown/grey tones (everygreens, pine cones, driftwood, pheasant feathers, etc.) with occasional pops of deep red or blue berries as the focus for my winter season decor. I think they provide such a soothing transition from the bright reds, greens and golds of the holidays to the stark and snowy winter landscape that we see in upstate NY. I’ll break out the deep reds for Valentine’s Day shortly, too.
It has been bitter cold here, too, but not so uncommon for this region as it is in the mid-south. We’re expecting a much needed, if brief, warm-up this week. Hoping some of the ice will melt! Stay warm!

Thank you Leslie ! Andthanks for sharing all your winter decor:). If you follow me on Instagram you can see that I still have my reindeer print up on the mantle, time to restyle around here for sure. Have a great week!

That monkey looks like he’s ready for some mischief! Good thing he’s contained.
