The Deepest Of Blue

The people that work at my Goodwill probably thought I moved…. or lost my ability to drive….. or worse. I had not stuck a toe in a Goodwill anywhere since late August. A couple weeks ago I stuck my head in one and it literally appeared to be going out of business. The shelves were nearly bare and NO furniture at all. It was just weird ya’ll. It bugged the pee out of me for several days and I finally just wrote it off. A day or two prior to Thanksgiving I gave it one more try………

Lord have mercy ya’ll!

I lost my mind in that Goodwill when I saw this piece. Seriously. I had no idea it was on caster till they rolled out to my car. Except for the top that was beat to hell , it was in exceptional condition.

Good thing, cause I can fix that top.

I used a new Minwax stain that I had never even seen before. It is called Honey and I love it! Imagin a half strength Minwax Jacobean. Now where has this been all my life??

In my Crazy Little Head I wanted a deep dark navy blue. And also in my Crazy Little Head, I couldn’t recall if I had a drop of dark blue pain in my paint cabinet.

Turns out I did :)))))

Lord , the legs on this thing!

When I got home I rummaged though all my paint and found a winner. I had most of a can of General Finishes Coastal Blue! It took two coats to give the deep dark saturation I was after.

All the pulls are original and in great shape.

They were, unfortunately nearly black with age and that did not do one thing for the deep blue dress she was now wearing. So I dug out some Rub’n Buff in the color European Gold and her jewelry was perfect!

I have been hanging on to this paper for a while.
