Last weekend I saw an ad on FB Marketplace for a super reasonable chest of drawers that actually look like it was in great shape. I was still pretty skeptical since everybody and their Mama can use Photoshop. When it come to buying furniture off the internet you gotta lay eyes (and ears and hands) on it to really check a piece out.
Sweet piece ya’ll!
It had only a couple of small scratches and that was it. You also gotta stick your nose in all the drawers as well. These also passed the sniff test so in my Murano it went. I already had a color in my brain so all the way home I was chomping at the bit to get right to work on it.
This green in another one from Amulent Furniture paint.
It is called Olive Branch. I painted the body of this chest in two coats of Olive Branch and then I just sat there and starred at it. The wood grain of the drawers was so pretty, even through the old finish. I stripped down one drawer and I was sold on leaving them natural .
This green is so pretty ya’ll. Pretty but quite masculine. It’s close to an actual army green, muted with a bit of brown in it.
The hardware was an accidental find and it is not at all what I normally gravitate toward .
The soft gold color is called Champagne Bronze . I will include a link to them at the bottom of this post. I used two sizes on this chest, two of the 3 inch pulls for the top drawer and the other six pulls are 4 inch.
For the drawer liners I chose a black and white plaid paper. I really love the combination of black, white and green. Its simple and clean and looks great with warm wood.
Can you see what I mean?
Y’all my next piece is a whopper!
I might be a few day before you hear from me :))))
