As a Furniture Painter your supply dictates your inventory. I do however try to keep traditional/ antique traditional furniture in my shop. Alas…….. that’s not always what I can get my hands on.
*** There measurements turned out to be WAY short.
This piece is somewhere between Midcentury and maybe 1980’s.
Odd for me I’m sure. But if the price and the piece are good what can you do? Two things: This is a really well made chest of drawers and I LOVE the look of it! The 5 .5 inch bar pulls were all there and in great shape so that’s also a plus. The knobs? Not so much.
So this was my Mood Board , so to speak
I wanted this one to be sleek and elegant, nothing fussy or raw.
I mentioned recently how much I love the Valpar Cabinet & Furniture paint from Lowes, so I asked them tent it to Benjamin Moore’s Aegean Teal. It is a gorgeous color ya’ll!
The original bar pulls I soaked in brass cleaner for about 2 hours out on my front porch and they look good as new. It would have been super expensive to replace them. If ya’ll are gonna paint furniture as a source of income you have to think about those things.
The Champaign Bronze knobs I found a Lowes for $3.82. They are by Brainerd. The came in several finishes and I will be using them in the future. They are well made and heavy for their size.
The drawers were the most fun :)))
Lots of little dividers in these.
As an aside, I offered this piece to Big Daddy before I ever put a drop of teal paint on it. He declined , albeit too quickly. When the chest was finished I think re regretted that decision. Its hard for him to visualize the final piece that I already seen. FYI, this one holds the record for the heaviest piece I have ever done.
Or almost dropped. Or slid out of the back of my vehicle.
Paige 🙂
