I try super hard to offer a a healthy range of furniture in my shop, and I will tell you exactly way. Very few people have room in there home (or their compact car) for a 70 inch $375 antique buffet.
It is that simple.
Dressers and side tables pay the rent around here. Today we are taking about side tables. A sharp looking side/end table can change a room ya’ll. In my crazy little world they are plentiful , thank God! I usually have a few in my shop just about all the time. The price point is under $80 and they are always solid wood.
Case in point……….good Lord what a mess.
But here’s the upshot:
solid wood, cool as hell legs and double the surface area.
Yes please 🙂
I took me 8 minutes to sand the old finish off …….. because there wasn’t any. There were , however plenty of dings and what I’m pretty sure was bird poop. I’m not sure what type wood this is but it doesn’t have much grain to speak of. The top itself took the stain really well though and looks so much better.
I used Country Chic paint on this one, the prettiest dark gray called Rocky Mountain. I’d been wanting to try this color for a while now and I am so glad I ordered some. It’s a deep rich velvety gray that grabs your attention.
The stain on top is a 50/50 mix of Minwax Jacobean and Weathered Oak.
Ya’ll have great week!

I think my favorite pieces are the ones like this one: gray with the stained top or black with the stained top. They are elegant and really dress up a room without being pretentious or stuffy! And I agree with you on the bonus of TWO surfaces. I actually have a small side table like this one, only it has 3 surfaces! I really have no idea where it came from, and it is quite ‘used’…but when we do buy a house and settle down it will be my first project ! I love how you styled this too…especially the throw on the lower shelf! (We just moved from California to northeastern Indiana, so I am a little bit closer!)
