I ain’t complaining ya’ll, not a bit.
It’s a good problem to have:)))
This is the photo that grabbed my attention on FB Marketplace. I was immediately curious about what these would look like in a less heavy color/ finish. I loved all those curves but I had a sneaking suspicion that they would shine if I could pick the right color.
I chose a pale aqua/ French blue.
I painted them in Amulent Furniture paint in the color Balsam. It is just a beautiful, serene color. I also traded the original hardware for an antique brass knob of a more appropriate size. The original knobs were really small, like more appropriate for a jewelry box.
The tops of the table are a tray style which is kinda cool, but I could see me destroying them trying to sand them down, so I painted them in the same color as the body. These tables are not at all huge in size so I feel like keeping them consistent color wise was the best decision. Lastly, I sealed them with General Finishes Flat Out Flat, a water based top coat.
These may be the most interesting pair I’ve ever refinished.
Maybe.
I’m not trying to cure cancer here yall.
My Day Job is closer the that. I would however like to encourage people to look past the flaws, the cobwebs and the dated. Your bank account won’t suffer and you’ll smile when you walk in your own front door :)))

I really try hard Sheryl! I just feel there’s a LOT of life left in these old castoff pieces. Clean them up, change the color and the hardware and they have a new lease on life.

Oh Paige!! These are just so lovely! The color allows the shape and lines to shine. You knocked it out of the park—again!!
