Last summer I found an unbelievable deal on a Hepplewhite Buffet.
$50
Never happen again, sadly.
This thing was perfect and weighed a bloomin’ tone. So to limit the toll on my back I refinished it and photographed it outside. It turned out gorgeous but I was never happy with the photos I took. The photos are super important . Not only do I share them with all of ya’ll, the photos sell the piece. As luck would have it, this buffet sold in about 2 days. Today I’d like to share some of the photos I did keep with ya’ll.
I really miss General Finishes chalk paint line. To me, it was the best paint line on the market. GF Midnight Blue was a deep dark navy blue. I have used it on countless pieces of castoff furniture over the years. I love way it just takes over a piece and makes it so elegant.
The Hepplewhite pulls were pretty corroded so I soaked then in a brass cleaner for about an hour and they looked brand new. Big Daddy says I will absolutely break my neck to get a piece with these pulls. I also love the style that comes with them 🙂
For the drawer lingers I used a Jacobean paper form Society6. I loved the navy blue and coral combination with this very stately piece. To this day it is still one of my favorite papers.
I am particularly happy with how well that mahogany top refinished. I use Minwax Jacobean stain and Minwax poly in satin finish.
One More :)))
Have great week ya’ll!
Paige
Just lovely, top to bottom.
Thank you sweet friend❤️
Absolutely gorgeous – love the color, the top and the hardware. If you don’t mind sharing, what paint company do you now use since General Finishes chalk paint is no longer available.
Gina girl thank you❤️ I rely heavily on General Finishes milk paint and Fusion Mineral paint. I have has some good success with The Chippy Barn’s Amulent paint as well. We have local retailers for the first two but the Amulent I get off Etsy.
P.S. FYI – I just commented and tried to subscribe from this page and your home page and kept getting an error page.
I know and I have no earthly idea how to fix it 😳😳😳
Yes – elegant is the word. Also stunning, commanding, handsome! This piece looks like it belongs in a warm, slightly traditional dining room! It really is beautiful!!!
You are the best Kristine. You always make me smile. FIY? Navy is my favorite color to paint a buffet:)
