I haven’t touched a paintbrush all week ya’ll.
I feel as though my day job is out to get me. October is really hard on the mammographer . Alas, it is our time to shine and we take it very seriously and revel in it. Breast cancer is overwhelmingly a women’s disease , although I have several patients that their fathers had it. We talk about it once a year at out annual appointment. For 32 years this has been my life, taking care of humans, 30 years of that I have been taking care of only women. My precious friend Kristine is fighting that battle right now, God bless her! Please keep her in ya’ll’s prayers.
So today I want to talk about how far grocery store flowers have come. At my neighborhood grocery they have this 3 for $10 deal: 3 bundles of flowers for $10.
Here’s what I made with my 3 bundles & a white tureen :))))
Pale green hydrangea
Green and white ornamental kale
Cream roses
I put this together on Saturday.
Today is Wednesday and they are beautiful as ever!
That kale is crazy , ain’t it???
I would love to use it at Christmas !
Hope your week is beautiful!
Get your mammogram please.

Please know that I sincerely appreciate you. For thirty years, you have been a guardian angel for all the women you have taken care of. My mother died of breast cancer at 49 years. At the time of her death, yearly mammograms were not done. Her surgeon found a mass, removed both her breasts, her ovaries and eighteen lymph nodes, She was deeply depressed on how he had surgically scarred her entire body. She gave up and died soon afterwards. My story is different. I have yearly mammograms. Guardian Angels like you have discovered lumps in both breasts. I have had four lumpectomies removed in the past twenty years. My surgeon had to remove a large one on my chest wall. Luckily, the surgeon was spectacular. He partially removed my nipple and reattached it after he removed the benign mass on my chest wall. I am now 69 and still have both my breasts. My surgical scars are almost invisible now. My new physician commented that my surgeon must have been a quilter in a past life because the stitches are so tiny. They are there, They remind me to be vigilant. They also remind me to let you know what a beautiful person you are. You have a special job that God decided only angels can perform. Thank you. I certainly hope that you feel better and start painting again. Take Big Daddy to some thrift shops with you. I love all of your wonderful projects.

Nancy you are just precious! Thank you for trusting me with this story . I feel both honored and blessed that you are comfortable enough with me to tell me these personal things and I can to wait to read this to Big Daddy. I take what I do deadly serious. I could have gone one of about 18 avenues in medical imaging but I chose women’s health and I’ve never regretted it. There is something so rewarding about taking care of people just like you❤️❤️❤️
