Ya’ll !!!!!!
You can actually walk through our garage without risking life or limb .
I know!
Nobody on the face of this earth is more surprised than me, except maybe Big Daddy :)))). Two Jeep loads to Goodwill, a huge pile of free junk out in our cul de sac, one FREE COME AND GET IT ALL ad on FB Marketplace (junk gone in exactly 38 minutes after posting said ad) and about 6 hours work and it looks amazing. Our goal is to make me a place to work/ paint / keep crap out of the house. Dear Lord in Heaven pleas let this work!
Today’s Victim:
This is the actual FB Marketplace ad.
I choose to use the actually Marketplace ads to give ya’ll some perspective . You need to have a bit of vision most of the time when it come to the photographs. This is one of the better ads that I’ve seen. I saw the French legs and those curves on the bottom front and I was on it. I always sand the top down first thing and get that out of the way. Next I vacuum the rest of the piece and wipe it down with bleach wipes, then I am ready to paint and stain. This vintage Lexington didn’t need much repair except a bit of adjusting on one drawer bottom . That’s unusual for me. I have a pretty strict budget in the crazy little business model in my head ya’ll. And it has served me well over the years. The problem is with my budget? The pieces I drag home usually need several repairs. This Lexington dresser was a pleasant change of pace for me.
I used my very favorite cream color , Fusion Mineral paint’s Champlain. It is hard to tell but it is almost a tan color, but not quite. I often times feel that an actual white is just too stark. Cream is so much warmer.
Back to that whole budget thing. If a piece of furniture comes with good original hardware I will pay more for it. Not tons more, but some more . In this case the antique brass bail pulls were a lovely bonus!
I had the two crystal ball knobs (my very favorite!!!!) in my stash and I really do not need an excuse to use them . They also came in handy because it was not 50% off knobs week at Hobby Lobby so everything just worked 🙂
For the drawers I chose this gorgeous French toile paper
If you look closely it has sort of a linen slub and texture. The listing for this wallpaper said brown and white toile. And I would have been thrilled with that color combo. Then I actually pulled it out of the shipping box and to my green eyes it is a gray ish tan and cream, not white. I am completely in love with it!
I will include the link to the wallpaper and paint at the end of the blog post . It is an affiliated link which means that we make a small commission from you purchase but your cast remains the same.
Have a great week ya’ll !
Paige

It’s lovely! I do like the black one as well but couldn’t leave a comment. Very elegant, the details like knobs make a difference 🙂 I do like the match of cream and dark brown color you have on top of this one as well. Thanks for sharing!
