First of all I’d like to thank all of ya’ll for you kind, heartfelt commits about my last post. I know ya’ll like the personal stuff but I really did not expect the slew of lovely comments :). Ya’ll truly amaze me and I really appreciate that!
Second, I do not have a before of today’s victim.
I have sent a FB Marketplace message to the nice lady I bought the piece in question from requesting the photo she used in her ad. If I do hear back form her I will amend this post.
OK, ya’ll had fare warning.
I announced a couple post ago that I was about to go and dig out all of my pumpkins. I just could not stand it. We have had a cool weather front move through Western North Carolina a couple days ago and it feels like Fall! It was in the low 50’s this morning and when I stepped out on the porch, coffee in hand I just stepped right back in the house. With everything that has been going on in our world I am welcoming Fall in any way I can get it.
Who’s with me???
This little table was in good shape and listed for a good price on FB Marketplace so I was automatically in from jump. It was a little on the red side (the original stain) but I knew that paint would fix that. I painted it in General Finishes Coal Black chalk paint, two coats did the job. I did choose to paint the top on this one. I wanted a matte black piece, no contrast really and as red as the original stain was I new I had a fair chance of a mess on my hands if I tried to re stain it. I am super happy with the look that I got, especially with the crystal ball knobs!
The drawer liner paper is another story.
Ya’ll I walked in to my tiny, tiny neighborhood Habitat Restore and found a double roll of York brand wall paper for a buck! The wallpaper wasn’t marked with a price so I took it up to the checkout counter and the total with tax was $1.07. I can not make this crap up……. I am admittedly not the brightest bulb on the tree ya’ll. It had never occurred to me to look for wallpaper in thrift stores before I found this. About a week later I found a roll in my Goodwill for $2, so keep you eyes open if you need some.
I know it’s hart to tell much about the size of this piece from just these photos but this is not a tiny table. It is quite a substantial piece.
Is it feeling like Fall where you are?
Have a great week ya’ll!
Paige
