Ya’ll the junk furniture shortage is real here in western North Carolina. And FB Marketplace has lost it’s mind. Folks are listing dressers here for a hundred bucks and they don’t have all their drawers! That is nuts!!!! I took some time on Saturday morning to hit all of my regular Honey Holes with no success at all. It wasn’t until I walked in to our Habitat Restore that I settled down a bit. Only a bit because I don’t do good in HR. They have plenty of inventory , but it is not very often that I can afford to purchase something to resell from there. I actually drove outa there with a solid oak American Drew piece that needed some love………and lots of scrubbing.
PS: I forgot to take a before photo.
Lord the top on this buffet turned out so well ya’ll!!!! It was scratched all to hell with several gouges but it sanded down perfectly. I used Minwax Provincial wood stain on this one and sealed it with 3 coats of polyurethane . The body is painted in Fusion’s Casement. I did pay more for this buffet that I usually do for a couple reasons: #1. Because I was borderline desperate and #2. It was a really good price for a buffet plus it came with great hardware so I didn’t have to budget for that either!
I lined the drawers in a gray and white swan peel and stick wallpaper that I got from Amazon. Now I have had this paper on my wishlist forever waiting on a better price. So when it did drop in price I finally pulled the trigger.
It really is a lovely paper :))). So elegant!
I will include the affiliated link to the paper as well as everything else I have used on this project at the end of the post.
This buffet started out as a dated, dirty duckling.
Elbow grease, good paint, a fun wallpaper and we’ve got ourselves a winner 🙂
