Recently, on one of my weekly stops at my Goodwill I came across quite the assembly of side tables. Two were almost matching, one being slightly larger that the other. They were solid oak and in really good shape so I walked away with them.
Big Eared Lily The Wonder Cat…….
They were a bit dated and orange but I knew we could fix that.
I chose Fusion Mineral paint in Coal Black for these two and some quite affordable antique brass apothecary pulls. I did just a bit of distressing on theses, something I haven’t done a quite some but really loved the less polished look of it on theses two.
The tops are the show on these!
I tried a new (to me) wood stain product on these, Rustoleum wood stain in the color Kona and I love it! As the name predicts it is a medium to deep coffee color. So this was an interesting experience. I’ve been a Minwax girl forever. The big, BIG difference in these two products is there viscosity. The Rustoleum is noticeably thicker ya’ll. Not as thick as a gel stain but thicker none the less and I feel like that viscosity made the process easier and I got better coverage.
This stain also drys quicker. The can states that it is dry on one hour and it was :))) I sealed both tops with multiple coats of Minwax poly .
Now ……. let’s talk about that sweet little clock!
It really doesn’t take much to make me squeal like a girl ya’ll.
A $3 vintage inspired clock that works will do it every single time ya’ll.
I’ve been working on a guest room refresh for a while now and this clock was perfect for the bedside table. I am figuring out the framed art for the room currently.
And the drawers……..
Here’s the link to the drawer paper:
I’ve been writing this from our porch and it is a glorious morning ya’ll!
Enjoy it!

Love the picture of Lily!!
