My long & ponderous journey to find art for the long back wall in our dining room has finally come to an end ya’ll :))))))
I have spent hours upon hours online in my search for the perfect prints that I have had in my crazy little head for a long, long time. I tried to stray from this plan twice during the months since Christmas when I took down the huge quote that had been on this wall for years. If I had stuck it out just a couple more months I would have been home free…….but alas I am a Hard Head. As I have had a lot of time at home on my butt in a big comfy chair in our living room lately, I have gone through Etsy with a fine tooth comb. A few days in to this particular scavenger hunt I found a little ol’ shop from Asheville, North Carolina, of all places! The shop is called CommonwealthPrints, spelled exactly like this. They are purveyors of vintage prints + posters ya’ll but I don’t really think that describes what I found there . Among other things, I am a botanical print NUT. These black and whites are gorgeous all on there own , no matte or frills needed. I chose to but them in frames I already had in a walnut finish and the combo on my gray dining room walls is quite elegant. The paper weight and printing are top notch as well.
The frames were purchased at Michaels, the Belmont line. These are 18′ x 24″ but Michaels has several other sizes. Mine were on sale plus extra 20 % so really cost effective. My home is full of them.
And the geranium :))))

I also ordered this fabric from a different Etsy shop. I thought I would use it to slipcover our black parson’s chairs I decided it was time to replace them after 16 years. I am obsessed with it! We will see but I am fairly sure I will use it in this dining room, the colors and texture are perfect!
Big Daddy is not at all hit in the butt with the new ones……..
But I sure am !
