Lord ya’ll.
Pottery Barn does not make it easy on a girl who hearts refinishing castoff furniture.
Not in the least.
Today’s victim:
This nice sized pub table came to me from a a sweet young couple.
From their photos I thought I was getting a drop leaf table, but a pub table like the one we have in our kitchen is way, way more fun. The extensions on either side tuck in underneath the middle part. Smart design , theses pub tables!
I lost track of how long it took to carefully, maddeningly carefully sand the original orange finish off. I am not used to working on pieces so fragile. The gray dresser from a couple weeks ago had a painted top for that exact reason. The only reason this table has a natural top is because I had nothing else in the hopper that day.
I painted the apron and legs in a light gray, Fusion’s Pebble. It’s a soft subtle light gray. I always go for a darker top so in this case the Pebble really shows off.
I know it’s crazy but I am loving how my gray resin wicker chairs play with this pub table. I don’t think I would hesitate to use this exact combo indoors.
It was a beautiful day for styling this table ya’ll!
Here in North Carolina we are we are now under a Stay At Home order till at least May 8.
Stay well!
