On what is probably my last trip to a thrift store for a while I purchased this dresser:
Some of ya’ll may recognize this. It is made by Pottery Barn. It was in great shape and I was really excited to bring it home. I got aggravated with it the second I tried to stain the natural top after I had already sanded off the original finish for for what felt like six years. This is the first PB piece I have ever worked on but I am pretty sure that wood grain is not what they are concerned with because there was none. This pieces is solid wood though just no details at all. So after the stain I had already applied had dried for several days I went ahead and painted the top, begrudgingly.
And today, right now?
I am going to have to eat these words happily!
This is such a lovely piece now ya’ll! I used Fusion Mineral Paint’s Soapstone. It is a medium to dark cool gray that pulls a bit of blue. This dresser looks so current and fresh now and I did not think I would be able to salvage it :)))
I love the way this color plays with all the things I have used to style it.
For the drawer liners on this dresser I used a cherry blossom wallpaper. I will include an affiliated link to it and all of the products that I have used on this dresser at the end of this post. It ain’t you Granny’s wallpaper ya’ll. It is peel & stick plus it repositions like a dream!
I am not sure that you can tell but I chose a very dark brown cup pull. I had black in my stash but I felt that was too cool and severe. The ceramic knobs are cream instead of white for that very same reason. I heart mixing hardware, especially on a dresser. I would really appreciate it if I go off the rails in the mixing department please feel free to rein me in a bit.
When those nail salons open back up I’m gonna be first in line ya’ll………

Oh I just love the way it came out. I like the drawer pulls you used as well. Honestly, I didn’t really like the before.
