I have been working my way through the house a little at the time deep cleaning and restyling each room. I have tried not to spend a gob of money either. So that means trying to reuse what I already have or get a great deal on a new piece to work in to the mix. This week I have focused on our dining room. Since Christmas it had become a dumping ground for all kinda stuff. I mean embarrassing so. I still want a new light fixture but that’s down the road a bit. Today I am sharing some Spring touches I’ve been adding in there.
This all started when I cleared away all the crap that had accumulated on the dresser top, my idea of a clean slate. I changed out the shades on my yard sale buffet lamps for simple natural linen ones to add some texture. The green bottles are from an ever-growing collection of them. I love the coastal vibe they lend and I can’t seem to pass one up. The thrifted woven tray is also a good way to add texture. I see these regularly in Goodwill for a few bucks.
The linen bunny runner was a $10 find at Ross , quite the deal at 80 inches long and lined!
This galvanized metal tree art was also from Ross .
Ya’ll this thing is just beautiful!!!! At $29 it was my biggest purchase for the refresh and at 31.5 inches across it looks great on this long back wall. The frame has just the slightest gray wash on it. This back wall in the dining room has always been hard for me. Most of the art I’ve looked at over the years has been way more $$$ than I wanted to spend. The biggest problem with the tree art now is that I want use it in every room of our home :))))
I’ve had the silver pieces and the white tulips for years. The tulips have been used all over the house and front porch may times. To me tulips are Spring! They have certainly been worth the investment .
The pheasant was a Christmas gift from Big Daddy and I love him!
He is a nice substantial size so he’s a stand alone kind of piece. This woven tray was a $4 Salvation Army find and I am obsessed with it! I’ve had it all over the house and now it had landed in this room. The art print was a Hobby Lobby clearance find a while back. They still have these, mine was on clearance at a pretty deep discount because the backing paper was torn in several places.
Doesn’t bother me a bit.
It looks an feels so much cleaner and lighter in here 🙂
Now we just need to keep in like this……..
Thanks for stopping in to see me!

Love your dresser. I have one similar to yours though not as ornate. I spent hours stripping several coats of paint off of it a few years ago. I love my pieces that have a “history” to them. Yours is beautiful. Annette

I have a dresser similar to yours though not as ornate. I spent many hours stripping it of several layers of different colors of paint. Had to haggle a bit to get it for the price I wanted to pay! Have a good week. Annette

I love how open and calm your dining room feels – restful and peaceful. I try to not be critical on-line, but I am really becoming tired of busy, complicated, even chaotic groupings of STUFF that I see. So the dresser with a simple arrangement of buffet lamps, basket, and glass bottles is perfect! LOVE those buffet lamps -I am going to keep an eye out for some! I saw a woven tray just like yours at a thrift shop this weekend – $5! I am kicking myself for not buying it, and praying it will still be there when I can get back there!
