Ya’ll had to know it is my china cabinet :)))))
I have so much fun playing with this piece………and yet I am thinking about selling it. That’s a story for another day though. I have been collecting green glassware seriously this year in anticipation of Thanksgiving and Christmas so they were the first things to get dragged out of the cabinets ( and the garage!) today. There are a bunch of shades of green glassware out there but I am sticking with the olive color. The very first piece I found several years ago in Goodwill and it’s sole purpose is to hold our cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving !
This is it…..
These two sets of sherbets I found over the Summer sitting side by side , also at Goodwill. I had been looking for them to use for shrimp cocktails or tea lights, depending on the situation. My aunt Carolyn has a set of iced teas in the pattern on the bottom shelf of the photo. I have asked her to will them to me.
These two beautiful green pottery soup mugs were a Pier 1 find just a few weeks ago and we love them! I thought Big Daddy would not care for them but he really does. They will get a lot of use around here. We make a soup, stew or chili around hear every week.
They are nice and chunky plus I love the rustic feel they have.
I tucked my olive plaid Christmas napkins in a basket for a bit of pattern. I also got these at Pier 1 (lasts year) but I did not see them this year. They do have the red version of them.
The second compote I picked up a few days before Thanksgiving for a buck! I filled it full of jingle bells from AC Moore from a couple years ago. The pasts bowls behind fit right in. Above you can see a piece of what I have always thought of as something that florist would use to hold flowers. I grab the whenever I can for the shop. I love the pottery look of them plus the sell really well.
What’ s you favorite thing to decorate For Christmas?

I’ve never been a big fan of green, but I do like your use of green with the rich red of cranberries very much, as I find the usual bright red during the holidays tends to be overwhelming…sort of been there, done that for decades. This year, for a real change of pace, I am using a lot of very dark red/maroon with deep forest and olive green – tones found in nature – it feels calm and fresh and not at all jarring.

Leslie I completely agree, it is calm and fresh.
