For me Fall is the time of the year that I clear the shelves in my china cabinet and take out all of my brown transferware and spend an afternoon playing with those pieces plus a few things that we use specifically for Thanksgiving. I don’t have a ton of brown transferware but I have come across a few new (affordable) pieces that I’d like to share with ya’ll this evening.
These two plates as well as two matching bowls I found at a Habitat Restore . They also had several tea cups and saucers which I walked right by and believe you me I am kicking my own butt for it right now.
They are just lovely with their flowers and the scalloped edges!
The plates were $2 each and these berry bowls $1 each.
I found two of these salad plates in a Goodwill in Travelers Rest, SC for a buck each. They are not at all old. In fact they still had the $8 TJ Maxx price stickers still on them. It is my habit on Thanksgiving to set two tables around 10-12 people. On the smaller table in our kitchen I use some of my brown and white pretties. The salad plates will be used for dessert.
This gravy boat with underplate was an Etsy find. I have never seen this daisy pattern before and I just love it!
Oh and PS:
Each Thanksgiving table has it’s own gravy boat and salt & pepper shakers.
I think it is a safe bet that ya’ll saw my newest (old) tureen 🙂
I got this big fat boy from another vendor at Sweeten Creek Antiques and he is perfect!
I have wanted one of these since I saw one in William Sonoma years, years ago. I could not believe it when I saw it ! His tail is magnificent! I am not really sure when I became a Tureen Lunatic but I am all in on this bird :). I hope to put him in the middle of the dining room table surrounded my heirloom pumpkins on the Big Day!
