I picked up my third jar of Fusion mineral paint this week ya’ll. This particular brand is slowly working it’s way in to regular rotation in my paint lineup. I gotta tell ya’ll, I really like this paint line. It performs beautifully! In my humble opinion the more popular brands of furniture paint all perform well, so for me it has almost always come down to color. In other words I usually purchase the color not necessarily the brand. I am not at all sure why in the world it took me so long to give this paint line a try but I am very glad that I did!
Todays victim:
Give me a little pine dresser any day.
This pine dresser was not in bad shape. It had been knocked around a bit put good paint and a sander can fix a multitude of sins ya’ll. I always sand the top down first, sometimes immediately. I do this for two reasons. First, using an electric sander is 100% weather dependent. You can not sand inside unless you want a huge mess. So if I haul a new piece of furniture home and it’s daylight out I mean to sand that top off right then and it’s done. And second? I can then paint that piece at my leisure.
This color is called Bayberry and it is a gorgeous olive green :).
I found the cream porcelain knobs with the copper filigree work on Amazon. I love the way the copper looks with the green paint! I will leave a link at the bottom of this post to them is anyone is interested. It will be an affiliated link which means that I make a small commission from your purchase while you cost remains the same.
The pine top is stained with a custom blend of Minwax stains. I actually found the formula on Pinterest. I’m not sure what we used to do without Pinterest! This color is 75% Minwax Jacobean and 25% Classic Gray. I just eyeballed it as I poured it in to a plastic cup and I really like the results!
The big difference between Fusion paint and the other furniture paints that I’ve used is that Fusion has a built in sealer. I was a scoffer at first but there’s a green paint smear on my kitchen faucet that is taking me a while to remove.
Currently I have my eye on one of their blues…….
Hope ya’ll have a great Monday!
