I have been working on this one for a while now, and by working on I mean that I have had paint chips & fabric samples in my purse, a dedicated Pinterest board and stuff in my Etsy cart for weeks now. So last week I began to put the wheels in motion when the painters showed up ya’ll :)))))
We unanimously chose Sherwin Williams Mindful Gray for the wall color and we are in love with it!!!! It is a warm medium gray that pulls no blue what so ever.
The wicker wingback I actually found at Rooms To Go ya’ll. Nobody was more surprised than me. I have been shopping for one of these for several years but never found one I could actually afford. They are a fortune, around $700! I got this one for $299 and it is really comfortable. Even Big Daddy says so and he is picky, like The Princess and the Pea picky. It is really sturdy and the finish is a sort of a grayed-down color. It looks so nice with the rug that we’ve had for a while and really didn’t want to replace.
This little gray tweed ottoman was a Goodwill find……. for 10 bucks.
Swear to God.
I literally stuck my head in to the Fletcher Goodwill for 2 minutes and tripped over it. It was back in their tiny furniture section, shoved up under a dining table . I could not pay for it fast enough.
Also looks like it was made for the rug :))
Macman has tried several times to pull on that sweet little button with his teeth.
Let’s just say he now knows better.
The lamp and the burlap shade were both thrift store finds that had been out in the Hell Hole for several months waiting for me to decide whether they were going to the shop or not. The fern study was one of the things sitting in my Etsy cart. I have an idea in my brain to do a galley wall in these over the couch but we will see.
We are really loving theses darker wood tones with these gray walls. Gray can be a cooler color on it’s own but with the darker woods it gives a nice warmth.
So all of the stuff that we removed from our living room is piled up in the dining room right now. I am currently not inclined to be in any hurry about adding much of it back. I have curtain panels that I like but haven’t hung them yet. I have however moved the side tables and my white lamps back in the room……..
I am enjoying the sparseness .

Okay – I am going to get straight to the point. You mentioned running a galley wall over your couch of the fern prints. Currently, or up until you painted your walls, you had two Magnolia botanicals over your couch that I have lusted after…. forever! If you decide you are willing to part with them (and I think you would be crazy to do it!), I am happy to pay for them as well as shipping. I am guessing you will say you want to keep them, which would be absolutely fine with me! But the minute I read about the galley wall – I thought “Well, I have to at least ask!” I am sorry to put this in your comments section!! And I can’t wait to watch your living room unfold as you and develop. Your talent is amazing!!
