Ahhhhhhh…… The Paint Cabinet
Good God what a mess. There were no less that 8 different containers with 3 teaspoons of usable paint left in the them that would not cover a Tinker Toy. Sometimes I wander what in the world I was thinking when I expended the energy to screw the lid back on any of them with my arthritic fingers. I must have been in some kinda hurry?
Who knows.
Today’s Victim:
OK.
I thought I had taken the before’s when I hauled this antique buffet in from my Jeep while Big Daddy was in Atlanta several weeks ago. Alas, I was over half way finished painted the thing when I it dawned on me that I had not.
Beat up on top but otherwise perfect!
So here’s how I cleaned that paint cabinet out…….I mixed the bits together and made custom colors. This teal color is a mix of Dixie Belle Stormy Seas, Mint Julep and General Finished Midnight Blue. I did not measure at all, I just hoped I would like the color when I was finished.
I love this teal ya’ll!
These are some of the Zinnias from my trip to flying Cloud Farm last week.
By the way ? they are all still looking good.
That big gouge in the top sanded out perfectly with my little orbital sander. I used Dark Walnut on this one and like the way it plays with that teal.
Legs!!!
So I have a least one more color from the paint cabinet to show ya’ll, maybe more if I get lucky with my science experiments……….

Hi Paige,
That buffet is gorgeous! I’ve just been staring at it for 10 minutes now! Don’t know how you can part with it! And the color is just the perfect teal!

Leah❤️❤️❤️ This particular era of furniture is alwas hard for me to part with. It would be even harder if I actually had the space for it :(((
