I love fresh flowers and greenery in our home year round. Sometimes I pick up the 3 for $10 bundles of flowers at my neighborhood grocery and sometimes (well, most of the time) I just cut some pretty stuff out of our yard. Right now in my yard it’s that kinda in between time where the early bloomers are gone and the Summer perenials are not quite opened up yet.
Luckily I love green foliage.
My Hosta patch comes in quite handy.
I also brought in some green damask pillows to soften the backs of my thrifted Ikea dining chairs.
This old silver pitcher is also a thrifted find. Anything looks beautiful in it!
I do love the contrast between the white twisted antique table legs and the woven chairs. Big Daddy was mucho skeptical about this combo when I brought in the chairs but he actually loves them now. Thank God because they ain’t going nowhere anytime soon.
It is a really nice view out to the back yard, lots of birds and bunnies. Mac and Lily spend most of their day on the bench enjoying the show.
He has really made quite the big cat.
When we brought him home we weren’t really sure how he would do in our house but he just thrives! He and Lily loved each other right away. He was still in the cat carrier and she was screaming like crazy and sticking her paws in to the carrier trying to get him out. He was so backward and odd at first but he became a Mama’s Boy fast. Mac was a feral kitten, starved and too small for his age. He was several months old when some woman who rounds up wild cats for the county brought him in. They told us he weighed .8 pounds at intake. .8 for Godsake! We was afraid to come out of our bedroom. It was like the house was too big for him.. We spent hours just laying on our big bed with him. When we did leave the room for something as we would walk by the doorway he would cry his little heart out. It was so sad really. After we had him for several months I remember vividly Big Daddy and I were watching a movie in the downstairs living room and Mac hopped up in my lap for the very first time and curled up to sleep. I ever so slowly encircled him with my arms and he slept their in my arms. I bawled my eyes out. I wanted more than anything to give him a good home and a good life.
Truth be told?
They gave use the good life.

Love the kitchen table and classic pitcher with hosta, etc., but love seeing Mac again just as much. Before I read your comment about him, I thought, “Wow, he has grown so much!” I’m a complete sucker for tabbies like him (I’ve had many). So glad he knows who his momma is now, and he obviously is loving his life with Lily and you both. While doggies are perfect for many people, kitties and horses are it for me. Thanks for sharing Mac again.

I haven’t even finished my first cup of coffee and I am in tears. When a cat like Mac finally learns to trust and feel safe, there’s clearly no other feeling in the world, as you shared. So glad you have both Mac and Lily, and have given them a loving, secure home. And they have given you such delight and joy.
