Big Daddy made me clean out The Hell Hole y’all.
I wanted to use the word FORCED but he said somebody would have him up on charges for that. He was merciless. Whats worse, he demanded the same outa me. Fortunately. #1 I was down to the I’ll refinish this because all the second hand store are closed pieces of furniture that I really had to make myself get a plan together, and #2 I know lots of furniture painting nuts!
So all in all?
It worked out and I found a LOT of crap I had lost :))
Then, the second Big Daddy’s back was turned I snuck this home.
Just look at it.
It was a mercy sneaking, if I’m being honest.
25 bucks ya’ll.
But the bones were good and who could pass top that cool curvy top drawer?
Doll. Baby.
All the way.
I chose to see just how far I could go on this sweet curvy dresser without spending any more $$$. As it turns out, I have never saved an even number of drawer knobs in my life. I just kept finding 1 on these or 3 of something else. So just as as was hunting my Jeep keys to drives over to Hobby Lobby on 50% off knobs week it occurred to look in my box of old wooden knobs. I found 2 of one kind and 4 of another to work with. It was easy really. I just sanded the 4 down to bare wood and stained them to match the top ( Minwax Dark Walnut) . The pair on top I pained the same color as the rest of the dresser ( Dixie Belle Drop Cloth) and distressed just enough.
I love how well the top refinished. I was a bit skeptical when I really took a good look at it when I pulled the dresser out of my Jeep. I had not noticed at all that the right front corner was broken off. I just sanded it smooth with my orbital sander and it stained up just fine.
I did luck out on one thing. Even though the outside of this dresser was beat to hell?
The drawers are in great shape
Thanks for stopping in to see me 🙂

That was the first thing that jumped out at me – the curve of the top drawer! I’ve never seen that before! And then that apron – so cool! And I didn’t even notice the damage on the right corner – you really can’t even see it!! This one will have a great second life in a nursery or a little one’s bedroom! Beautifully done as always!!!

Such a lovely makeover, Paige! I believe my sister had a very similar dresser while she was growing up. So many pieces I wish I could have saved that my folks had… so hard to find furniture like this here in So Cal (at least that is affordable!
Michelle, Crissy and I would love to have you link-up at our new link party, Tuesday Turn About. We go live at 3pm PST today! Hope to see you there!

It’s adorable, and your ‘stay awhile’ sign really caught my attention. That is a sentiment I’m just not used to seeing with all the rushing and frenzy of the daily grind. It’s a healthy shift for us all to make! Found you via the Turn About party and so happy I did. 🙂
