There is a lesson to be learned in this post.
I was in my current honey hole of a Goodwill and spotted the cutest legs I have ever seen.
Now this particular Goodwill stacks it’s furniture in a cage type of shelving so I had to climb up a recliner in order to reach a leg on this little table and pull it down :)))
They are used to me at this store so no worries .
So the Goodwills in my area tag their furniture with a rectangular tag. When you want to pay for the piece you just rip that tag right down the middle, leaving the left half taped to the piece and head on up to pay for it with the right half of the sales ticket. The second I saw that half the $15 ticket was gone I was bummed! Then I thought for a second. The store had just opened, not many people there at all so I might just have a chance. I carried that table up to the cashier and she very promptly made three overhead pages for the person who might have had the other side of that ticket and about 10 minutes later I was driving away with it!
The gray color is approximately a 50/50 mix of General Finishes Queenstown Gray and Empire Gray. In other words a light, warm gray.
The cream china knob was a Hobby Lobby find at $2 on a 50% off week.
This is not the first time I have used a cream knob with gray paint. I really love the combination.
The top had a reddish stain when I found it and after I sanded that off the raw wood top was still sort of red. So I crossed my fingers and went with Minwax Jacobean and it looks much better !
This little throwaway table turned out to be the perfect side table I think!
This size, shape color and legs just make me smile 🙂

Great job on this side table!! Goodwill is one of my favorite places to shop for goodies. Taking that table up to the clerk was a smart idea – I see those same tags at our Goodwill and give up! But next time I certainly won’t give up!! General Finishes make great paints, don’t they?
