Y’all I am pretty sure Spring has finally hit western North Carolina:). I know this to be true because last weekend it was in the 70’s, beautifully sunny and I brought home my very first victim of the year from Lowes garden center. A hydrangea of all things!!!!! It has been a tradition around here for years . The weather warms and I go buy a big beautiful not cheap hydrangea that (with only three exceptions) I will kill in record time.
I am a slow learner apparently.
As I have been adding a few Spring touches around our house I have made it a point to try to blend them subtly and not just go too crazy. We have been in full out declutter mode in this house for about a month so not re cluttering the joint is the goal.
Y’all this is every faux hydrangea I have ever had all in one big metal container. I am in love with the size and impact it has on our dining room table! I also tucked in a few fern sprigs (also faux) and put two spring green pillows in the parsons chairs at each end of the table.
This blue ticking striped runner is a thrift store find for $3. It is actually a window valance but it is the perfect size for our dining room table.
It did have a couple of stains but all of that came right out when I laundered it.
Nothing fancy really but it makes us smile!

Love it — simple, serene, calm! Your blue-ticking-valance-turned-tablerunner from the thrift shop? I found one too, only it was STILL in the original packaging! And I did the exact something – I laid it down on my coffee table! (It’s in my post about buffalo check pillows if you want to check it out!) When you are going to show your hutch for spring ?!?
