I bought this thing sight unseen ya’ll.
For the record? I do not recommend it.
The big reason I lost my mind and purchased this table without actually seeing it was the price. Now this deal could have gone south in about 13 different ways but I lucked out, thank God. This is a big table ya’ll. I glanced at the measurements in the Facebook Marketplace ad but it really didn’t register in my brain. I was pleasantly surprised when it’s previous owner came out of the door with it! I had already sanded the top down before I took theses photos. It was in pretty bad shape so y’all didn’t miss much. The upshot of that was that it didn’t take but a few minutes with the sander to get to this point.
Fine by me 🙂
When all sawdust was brushed away I scrubbed down the apron, drawers and legs with Clorox wipes.
Twice.
If you are at all on the fence about a paint color for anything, just go to Instagram and search #painted furniture. 800,000 images will come up. From there click on the images that appeal to you and it will lead you to more of the same style of furniture. I have picked more colors/ paints this way than I have ever picked out in the paint store.
I have yet to be disappointed.
Dixie Belle Drop Cloth you are the most perfect shade of cream that I have ever seen:)))))
In my humble opinion the perfect cream is not the least bit yellow, somewhere between bone white and a very, very light taupe or putty. This one from Dixie Belle hits it right on the nose.
My collection of pitcher is everything on the white spectrum. I used all of these whites to better illustrate the broad spectrum that falls in to the category of Whites. The pitcher in the very center is vey close to Drop Cloth. It is warm, not sterile, not a hint of blue, as neutral as it gets.
The label pulls where an Amazon find and I love them!
This type of pull was the first thing that I thought of and I honestly think anything else would have detracted from this piece. They are pretty substantial weight wise and I love the black against the cream paint. They were 5 for $14 and I will include a link at the bottom of this post. The old hardware holes were much farther apart than the new label pulls so to make the job of measuring and drilling the new ones easier (and avoiding marital discord!!!!!) Big Daddy made an template that worked like a charm.
I used the last little bit of that Minwax customized stain . It is 50% Jacobean and 25% each Classic Gray and Weathered Oak. I love the look of it on this yellow pine.
I used less that 1/5 of the small pot of Drop Cloth for this project.
The paint was 8 ounces for ten bucks.
This it a rather versatile piece of furniture. It could me used as a large desk, buffet, kitchen island (with the addition of casters) or a console/sofa table.
Thanks for stopping in to see my latest victim 🙂

Paige, Great score! Really nice color. I may use that on my cabinets.
You need to give these folks a try for pulls & Hardware: https://www.dlawlesshardware.com/searchresults.html?keywords=card+catalog+pulls
I know.. $50 is a lot to spend at once, but in the end, it’s worth it.

This is beautiful, Paige! I could see myself using this piece as a beverage station. And I love drop cloth! This color is now a top consideration for the legs on a farmhouse table we are going to be building soon. I’m pinning this to my DIY Painted/Stained Furniture board for future reference. I would love for you to share this over at my link party Homestyle Gathering via Serving Up Southern.
