Ya’ll…….
My crazy has just hit an all new level.
Add bird eggs to that list you have going.
And I am just fine with it.
These are quail eggs.
I mean like real quail eggs.
I found them in the egg section of my grocery store for $5. Big Daddy ’bout flipped when he pulled them out of the groceries that were scattered all over the kitchen counters. The look on his face just screamed , ‘Paigey ……we are gonna have to have you checked at some point .’ Lord ya’ll. He’s has seen come crap living with me for 30 years 🙂
My family thinks I’m nuts also. They rarely ever eat on the same stuff twice. They are very sweet about it though. Even my dad and my uncles ooh and aah over my tables.
So while I am figuring out what I will do with these 12 lovely things I thought it might be fun to play around with different tableware patterns for a sort of thrifted, mix & match spring place setting.
I started with an oversized Mikasa Italian Countyside Dinner plate to use as a charger.
As the actual dinner plate I used these robin’s egg blue ones that I found at my Habitat Restore in Fletcher for a buck each! They only had four but I scarfed them up.
The blue has a tiny hint of green.
I have seen these all over the Goodwill circuit and I am kicking my own butt right now for not grabbing it sooner.
The next layers are from my brown transferware collection.
And topped it with a bird nest from Michaels.
I may just put these quail eggs in a tiny apothecary jar in the china cabinet, away from the tiny terrorists.
You know them as Lily & Mac 🙂

Thanks for sharing your quail egg story, and your dishes, too! I’m always looking for separate dishes for MWA! 😉
