Good bones go a long way. So does good pricing.
Keep that in mind……
This dresser was just tired…… and orange.
And somebody has spilled what appears to be blue ink on that left front corner. Now those are the negatives. Here is a list of things that I saw: Big roomy drawers that work well, a top that is almost sanded down and knobs instead of (more expensive) pulls and (I learned later) needing no structural repair. It’s Winter here and I really think about that last point the most in Winter. To not have to bargain with Big Daddy over helping me rebuild a piece of junk furniture in 35 degree weather with a wind chill factor? I will definitely pay up a little!
Not so much in the Summer though:))))
This is Fusion Mineral Paint’s Ash.
I have had these white and silver filigree knobs for months. There were $8 for all 6 at TJMaxx. I loved them and I really wanted to use them on a piece that would not compete with them, if that makes any sense at all. They are also pretty big knobs so they wouldn’t have worked on just anything. I am really glad I wanted for the right piece.
Now about the top.
This is a custom blend of three different Minwax stains to achieve this color.
I found this formula on Pinterest.
50% Jacobean
25% Classic Gray
25% Weathered Oak
I just eyeballed it and mixed them all together in a plastic cup and applies it with a lint free rag.

The basket is a $5 Goodwill find.
It has a woven handle in the back and actually hangs on a hook on our front door.
Looks pretty good in our living room…….just saying 🙂

Well, you bought another part of my mother’s 1930s bedroom suite. Don’t think she owned that one. I’m sitting at a desk that was also part of that suite – actually, a vanity with the mirror removed. Bought it at the thrift store for $15. It’s hideous! Someone repainted it for a little girl. Not my style! However, I like the gray, and especially the new pulls you put on yours. Guess I’ll have to break down and do something about this desk as soon as the weather breaks. I may have to paint Mom’s hope chest too. Thanks!
