I really start to panic when we are starting to be able to walk right through The Hell Hole (our garage) freely and I can’t find any good pieces of furniture to buy.
Truth.
Just ask Big Daddy.
His eyes will roll so far back in his head you would think he is passing out.
Such has been the case for the past two weeks around here. Since I toil under the perpetual fear that this furniture thang could end at any moment and it makes me crazy. OK, crazier. There.
I said it.
Then this pops up on Facebook Marketplace 🙂
Ain’t no way in the world I’m passing up those legs…..Lord knows.
The lady selling this antique sewing table had said that it no longer contained the sewing machine. My aching back begs to disagree. I picked this thing up like it weighed nothing and just about landed in her yard. Oh, it was a show I am sure watching me try to manhandle this thing in to the back of my Jeep :0
For those lovely legs no other color would do but an equally lovely turquoise.
I had been holding on to four of these turquoise knobs for a year and a half hoping just the right piece would come along. I am here to tell ya’ll it was worth the wait!
Annie Sloan Provence is the perfect shade of turquoise in my humble opinion.
The mahogany top I sanded down and applied Annie Sloan Dark wax only. Simple worked well here. As I was taking these photos I thought about doing just a bit of distressing . And I may still. For right now this piece is sitting in my living room and I am enjoying just looking at it.
And I am not the only one.
I want ya’ll to look at these two monkeys !
This is Mac.
We got him for Tiger Lily 3 weeks ago and they love each other so much. He also came from the animal shelter and he is 1 week older that her. The big difference is Mac was feral. He has been a bit of a challenge but with Lilly around and all over him he is opening up nicely. His eyes look like this all the time. Like he is so surprised. Its weird. He also has really small ears. If he can not see Lily he trills for her till he finds her. They are so sweet together. He plays for keeps though. His claws are like razors.
He is curled up asleep at my feet right now :)))
So 15 bucks for this thing.
Seeing these two monkeys having a ball with it is priceless.
Tonight’s the first NFL game of the season and our Falcons are going up against the Eagles…..again.
May God have mercy on our souls.

That turquoise really pops – especially against the wood on the top! I am so accustomed (and enjoy) all your grays ,blues and blacks that this bright color really jumps out. And Mac?!? He is adorable – but I love how that he trills for her when he can’t find her. Amazing! Our black-cat-who-adopted-us also shows affection with claws and bites. He’s better now but we know what to watch for (body language, head tilt) when it looks like he wants to play rough. Apart from that he is a total joy, and Mac sounds like he is too! I love that little face!
