My Mama’s name was Anna Ruth.
Anna Ruth was an antiques collector so I got it honest people. She had a penchant for big high antique beds. She was also five feet tall. So every night she had to use one of these to boost herself up in to her Big Bed:
I could not have walked past this one if I tried.
5 bucks at the Goodwill.
Anna Ruth’s was also made of pine. I was with her the day she found it in our favorite furniture store in Waynesville, NC. Before the step stool she kinda had to run and take a flying leap to get in to that big bed!
Someones puppy (Lord I hope!) appears to have gnawed on the corner of this one so I did sand it smooth a bit with my orbital sander. I painted it GF Nantucket Green, my favorite vintage green. It makes quite the fun side table out on the porch 🙂
I made me smile when I found it, thinking of her!
And it makes me smile now painted in that pretty green:).
It took me all of half an hour to refresh this little piece. Sometimes I forget that every project doesn’t need to be a huge deal or a huge piece of furniture.
Paige 🙂

It’s lovely, sweet and charming! I love that color – quite certain that is the ONLY color that would have looked so perfect! Wait until Little Miss Tiger Lily gets big enough to climb up there and settle herself on the top step! (My cats love step stools and step ladders! ) Thank you for sharing your stories about your Mama – I always enjoy them.
