We just got back from a wonderful and restful week on the coast of South Carolina 🙂
Now, I new I was tired. We both were. So laying around by the ocean for 7 days with no plans I might add, was our idea of heaven. Our first afternoon there I went up to our room, crawled in our big, soft bed and slept for 3 hours. Big Daddy was just about to put a mirror under my nose to see if I was alive.
He’s a romantic devil.
In terms of shopping down there I have my usual haunts. I have my Fabric Honey Holes, my White Tableware Honey Hole, Pottery Barn and this cute little silver jewelry store. that I cant remember the name of. So several days in to our stay when we thought we’d had enough sun……. I started hitting the thrift stores:))). I swear to ya’ll I could have filled a UHAUL for next to nothing. Alas, it was a vacation . So I limited myself to smalls. Big Daddy thinks I’m crazy anyway.
Good thing he like ’em crazy.
So here’s the stack of smalls I go out of Surfside Beach with.
2 lamp bases
Silver tray
6 yards of gorgeous fabric!!!!
Olive & aqua, if you can’t tell the colors.
The details on this $2.99 tray are beautiful.
The black lamp base was my first project upon arriving home. It was probably originally a pair of buffet lamps and I would just die to have the other one.
I loooooove these details on the base!
You can see and appreciate the carved details so much better after I painted it white and sanded it slightly. I used GF Bone White on this one. Multiple coats.
The shade is the show stopper .
It’s a tapered drum shade that I found at Ross and the medallion I found on an end cap at Hobby Lobby.
Who new??
It attaches with a magnet. This is what it looked like right out of the package. The way the blue ticking fabric was glued down in the center began to bug me so I added a tortoise cell button.
Well, me and a glue gun.
I was just thinking how beautiful a vintage pin would be in the center as well:)))
Have a great Memorial Day weekend ya’ll!
