Sunday mornings are my absolute favorite.
I try my best to not leave my house. I also try to not shower, fix my hair, cook or put on actual clothes. Just stay in my feeties all day long and be a bum. I take that whole day of rest thing quite seriously. And there ain’t much that will get me out of it and make me Adult on a Sunday. Just two things two things really.
My Family & a hell of a deal on a pine dresser:)))
Yes. It was pretty beat up.
No. I wasn’t bothered about this in the least.
The top was the worst of it, with several deep gouges. I really had no delusions about getting them all out either. I knew what ever finish I chose for this piece would probably settle in to each and every one of them.
I also knew that I love that effect!
I found these knobs on Amazon and they match the General Finishes Nantucket Green perfectly! I have had the dresser painted for about two weeks and have just been waiting on the knobs. They were shipped from the UK and I knew it would take a while but they are soooooo worth it. The green in the knobs and the antique brass details are perfect for the color I chose…….. in my humble opinion.
The curved details around the bottom of the dresser sucked me in immediately. I could see them in the photos on Facebook Marketplace and I knew I would obsess with this thing until I had it in my Jeep. Alas, it was a rainy day when I hauled it home so I did have to wait that out before I could actually begin to work on it.
Pine + Annie Sloan Dark Wax = Happy Paige
Here’s the funny thing about Nantucket Green. It changes color a bit when you sand it.
It brings out variations of yellow and a slight blue, making it one of my very favorite colors to paint.
Have a great weekend!
