You know you have a problem when you have so much crap out in your garage that you actually forget what you have out in that pit out there. The upshot of that?
Every time I go digging around out there it’s like Christmas morning for a Junk Nut :)))
I have probably had this antique mirror for over two years.
I am willing to bet that it came with a dresser I got from a very nice lady just down the street from me. At the time it felt like more of a boat anchor than an asset to the dresser. About a week ago I was doing this dance out in the garage we like to call The Furniture Shuffle when I unearthed this mirror. It was late one evening after work and I was kinda itching to paint something. Painting is quite relaxing for me so sometimes when I can’t quite wind down from my day job, if I spend a few moments on something mindless, a few moments with a brush in my hand and not near any electronics …….. I sleep well.
This mirror was a quick paint.
Quick and rewarding. My kinda project :). I am quite pleased with how the Duck Egg color brought the piece more current. I can just see this mirror in a powder room or someone’s entry.
The details are amazing.
The mirror is an old one and the silver is wearing but I love the effect anyway.
I also love the curvy detail at the mirror’s base…… and this view of my living room 🙂
I just had to sand a bit on these details.
It really brings the out. This definitely fall under the heading of they don’t make ’em like this anymore.
Happy Sunday ya’ll!

I have my mother’s vanity and dresser that looks almost exactly like this. I’ve been told it’s art deco style. It’s in the original wood which is not attractive to me, but I absolutely love the color you’ve got on your mirror. You’ve inspired me to change it to something I love, thanks.

This is a beautiful piece and the Duck Egg blue looks perfect. That carved wood is amazing – what a treat to have treasures like that in your home. I too love the view of your living room. It looks warm. comfortable and inviting.
