When it comes to framed art I will chooses a botanical every time.
I usually get my images on Etsy.
You can find instant digital downloads on Etsy, some for as little as a buck!
So a couple weekends ago when we were cleaning out The Hell Hole I made a pile for myself of all the thrift store frames that I had picked up for 1 or 2 dollars. Apparently picked up ……. and forgotten. At the end of that weekend I had quite the pile. So I got out the General Finishes Lamp Black milk paint and went to town on that pile of frames.
Nearly every frame was light colored wood, like oak or maple. I painted each frame with two really good coats of my GF’s black paint and after I let them all dry really well I sanded them all lightly ( to dull the finish a bit) and distressed the edges a little.
Here is the results of my hoard of frames from The Hell Hole :)))
Here’s the link to the Etsy shop where most of these fern images come from:

Love how you finished the frames! So inspirational. Love everytthing you have pictured at your shop. Im in love with the coffee table 💜💜💜 Exactly what I am wanting for our living room. We downsized so I have taken 3 or 4 different tables and tried them but what we need is something round or oval. Wish we lived much closer but i would be at your shop everytime you posted a new piece 😂😂😂💜💜💜

Do you still have the green sugar bowl on the coffee table in this latest photo? I would love to have it if available. Thanks for such a great blog!
