As Of last week my little shop has been open for two years.
Big Daddy helped me move in in the middle of a monsoon. We had flown home from Mexico the day before and Big Daddy was sick as a dog (Montezuma’s) and I was giddy with excitement that day I will never forget. I was the beginning of a new chapter for Southern curated. Walls around me and a roof over my head. It is so fun to have this space of my own to just play house in :))))). It has been a while since I have given any kind of an update from the shop and I was just down there filling it to the gills and dolling it up for a Fall Vintage Market that Will happen down there on the property this week end so it’s as good a time as any fro a little tour……
So this is the table and chairs that I have been working on for a good while now. I swear I do not in the least like to paint chairs but these look great in Lamp Black. The chairs came as a package deal with this pedestal table. You can see the leaf for the table back on the right.
These pottery lamps were a thrift store find. One was tan and the other turquoise. Both had a few small chips but were basically brand new. I painted them a gloss white and added the burlap drum shades and the custom finials and they were off to the races, literally y’all. I left my shop about 6:20pm. The next morning those lamp went home with some nice lady 🙂
Old silver is always a staple in my shop. I brought in a few pie pumpkins for Fall and I just love the one on the silver pedestal dish!
I made the bunting out of an old yellowing paperback book I had out in the garage. The old black and white photos give it sort of a Halloween vibe. I will be blogging a bit more about this project later in the week. It’s another one of my ‘Feety Pajamas Projects’.
Lord help us all…….
I do love all of the peacock colors against the sort of barn wood finish of the table top.
I have always had a thing for putting fine with rough, so to speak. I love the juxtaposition. The stack of vintage china plates also left with that same nice lady 🙂
Thanks for stopping by ya’ll!
Paige
