Last weekend while we were down in The ATL for the Falcon’s game I managed to hit the outlets in Commerce, Georgia. I found some inspiration from a most unlikely source:
The Vanity Fair store
I know. Nobody is more surprised that me.
This table runner is actually a scarf.
Or maybe a shawl. Honest to God who cares?
It is gorgeous, especially against the barn wood finish of out dining room table top.
I have had two of these kind of scarfs for a few years now.
Both were gifts. One from a patient of mine the other from my Aunt Wanda. I love the Bohemian vibe they all share. I was standing in line at VF and glanced down at the ‘impulse buys’ when I saw the jewel tones in this one and pounced. For $4.99 I truly added a whole new vibe to my dining room :)))

I kept the glossy olive magnolia.
I just swapped the low white tureen for the taller antique brass vessel to add height and another metal to the mix. The teal cotton napkins came from World Market (last year). You can find similar ones here:https://www.amazon.com/Napkins-Hemstitched-Detailing-Linen-Clubs/dp/B06XWV1H53/ref=as_li_ss_tl?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1506190872&sr=1-5&keywords=teal+cotton+napkins&linkCode=ll1&tag=southerncurat-20&linkId=6b1fa67e27caa3933daa62dccfda4d74
The napkins in this link are a better price and with a prettier hem. (You know what they say about hindsight)
The flatware come from Walmart years ago.(similar set here: http://amzn.to/2jQz2y5, better price id memory serves)
I love the pearl handles(faux) and the silver details on these. I use the the most at the holidays.
The vintage Kings Crown thumbprint goblets (1960’s) were a hella score at Goodwill this Summer for $.50 each. I had actually forgotten what I paid for them but one still has the price sticker on it.
I love how they look with the scarf and napkins.
This may just be our Thanksgiving table. I love it that much!!!
But its early yet :)))
So the moral of this story is when you run in to some store to get a bra, be sure to look for something to style a table with in the impulse but section. You just never know……….

Beautiful table setting.
I thank you for your kind words 🙂
Love it! Who knew? Where did you get those cute gold artichokes? I have been looking for those.
They came from Michaels last Fall on clearance. I’m not sure if they have them this year.
Yep! You just never know what you might find when you go into a store looking for a bra! Ha ha! The table runner (or scarf) is just beautiful, and well worth the $4.99. I love a repurposed story and this one is great! Well done!
