We’ve had a hard go of it around here this past month.
Life’s like that sometime and I guess its just The Davis’s turn in the barrel. It will most certainly pass, this I know. This is probably the biggest reason I was itching for a change. The Good Lord obliged when he gave me my house to myself.
I was craving a more neutral pallete in our living room so I swapped out a few pillow and……. behold the Snowball Effect. I pretty much looted every closet in the joint of black, white and tan. PS: my pillow cover stash is something to behold :)))
These black taffeta beauties were a gift from my Mama years ago.
I have never gotten tired of them. For some reason I’ve never thought of using them in our big chairs but Im actually loving it.
See that striped snake tail? Emmitt has followed me every step I’ve made today.
I brought in this black ticking quilt and the monogrammed burlap pillow from our guest room. The reverse side is black and white toile. Either way I love how it blends with the rest of the decor I liberated from every corner of this house.
By virtue of the Magnolia, green became the accent color in here.
I liberated that Magnolia also, I just ain’t saying from where. I am crazy about Magnolia. Those beautiful, glossy leaves are quintessentially Southern, aunt they? My Mama used to say that they are also quintessentially Paige. They could do worse and so could I. The last forever and dry beautifully. That’s a Win Win in my book.
White pumpkins and silver.
Works every time.
Calmer.
And cozier without being all, up in your face Fall. I feels good to me. I don’t link I will go much further in this room. It feels pretty perfect to me as I sit here with a glass of good wine and my Boy in my lap 🙂
Now….. I can not say the same for the rest of this house!

The room is perfect! I like the hints of fall with the light airiness we will still need here in the hot, early fall days in North Carolina.

Susan thank you so much!

Our summer weather is lasting a lot longer than usual in our parts and it is hard to wrap my mind around decorating for fall. You’ve provided some wonderful inspiration here though with your neutral colours and subtle suggestions of the season. Really enjoyed seeing how you’ve decorated your LR for fall – and seeing that snip of a cat tail 🙂
