A couple weeks ago I shared my not- so -traditional 4th of July tablescape where I used a scarf that I got off the clearance aisle at Walmart as a table runner. I mentioned in that post that I had picked up a couple of those $5 scarves. Today we are talking about #2 and another use that I have found for both of them.
Scarf #2 is longer and pale blue with a big wide band of lace trim.
The lace trim is actually very nice, It appears to be cotton, not anything shiny or synthetic looking. I love how substantial it looks as it falls off the edge of our dining room table.
It is nearly as wide as the table so I bunched it into gentle folds down the middle to make it a bit more narrow. The color is pretty subtle and really plays well with the grays and the antiques in this room.
I’ve been in Market Mode for weeks now.
I’m talking a good little break from furniture refinishing and am sewing the pillows I will offering for sale in my part of the huge Sweeten Creek Antiques booth. I have to say I really like how the blue ticking striped lumbar pillow looks against the white chairs and the warm pine of the dining table.
It makes me smile every time I walk through here on my way to the kitchen :)))
Just so y’all know, these $5 Summer cotton scarfs make one hell of a cute swimsuit coverup.
Just tie it around your waist !
You’re welcome 🙂

You’re so creative to think of this use for the $5 scarf. It looks great on your dining table. The blue hydrangea blossoms are perfect with the scarf.
