Some days you are just living right.
I ran to Goodwill one day on my lunch hour and absolutely tripped over these.
‘Bout broke my neck on my lunch hour if I’m being totally honest. The price was great so in my Jeep they went. I had visions of what a cute pair of bedside tables these could make.
But today we are talking about this one.
Not at all sure what that little lock is all about.
For some reason when it comes to this Market I have really had Black & White on my brain. So out came the white paint, General Finishes Antique White to be exact. I got the fever to paint this table at about 8:30 on a work night so after I got a really good first coat on it I packed up my crap, washed out my brush and headed to bed. The next morning I could have cried!!! The bottom half of my sweet little white bedside table was pink. PINK! I stomped off to work thinking I’m gonna have to stop on my way home and get some shellac…… Bleed through makes me so mad I could spit nails. Alas I had forgotten all about it at five o’clock and I sure wasn’t about to go back out for the stuff when I was already home and in my feety pajamas.
So I painted on…
Second coat of GF was a charm.
this turned out to be the sweetest little table 🙂
I found a box of cool drop pulls a few months ago at Marshals but had no use for them at the time so I chipmunked them away in my hardware stash.
Nice price for six pulls, huh?
To me they look like beautiful earrings.
I love how they look on the piece.
I kept the distressing to a minimum.
Sometimes less is more on furniture so I just hit the high spots. I do love the fluted detail on the sides so I sanded a bit more in these areas.
I refinished the top with Annie sloan Dark Wax only.
It’s become the Gold Standard for me.
The green glass jug is my latest addition to my collection. I got it at a local thrift store for $2.10. I thought for about two seconds that I would pack it up to take to Market but I ain’t parting with it now. It probably a Boone’s Farm bottle but I don’t care. It looks great with the rest of my collection.
And don’t y’all act like y’all don know what Boone’s Farm is ……..

I always find myself drawn to painted white furniture. This little table has charm and personality after you painted it. I am looking forward to the other table’s makeover.

Your funny comments make me smile! And I love seeing your make-overs, too–they’re always classic.
