Well, me.
This was exactly what the expression on Big Daddy’s face was saying to me when he came home to this in our living room.
Lord.
Those legs!
These two photos were in the ad that I responded to “about the half a table”, as it’s come to be known at Casa Del Davis. Big Daddy saw junk and $25 thrown out a Jeep window. Paige saw LEGS and one hell of a console table.
I loved the top as is but it was the kind of chippy that you’re not real sure what it’s chipping so I took stiff brush to it outside and that left me with this:
Hemp oil, you are my friend!
Now for those legs.
I chose Old White for the legs (there are five!) because I thought it would be a lovely compliment to the patina of the tabletop.
This half a table will also go in the Market Pile. I finished the seventh piece late this afternoon. I think Im starting to relax a bit about this whole thing. The more furniture I complete without major problems or screw ups the better I feel. I set a (lofty) goal in my crazy little head of taking twelve big pieces. I have them all plus a few extra out in The Hell Hole. I just need to remember two things:
Slow and steady wins the race.
If I don’t enjoy the process its no fun.
I found these at my neighborhood grocery for $3 per pot. I love this color. I love tulips in general but these will last way longer than the cut variety.
I can also plant them in my yard…..for the squirrels to dig up and eat 🙁
